Target Information
Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs)는 분비형 신호 전달 분자군으로, 이소성 골 형성을 유도할 수 있습니다. 많은 BMP는 transforming growth factor-beta (TGFB) 슈퍼패밀리에 속합니다. BMP는 탈무기질화된 골 추출물이 생체 내 비골격 부위에서 연골내 골형성을 유도할 수 있다는 능력으로 처음 확인되었습니다. 본 유전자가 암호화하는 BMP는 배아 발생 초기의 발현 양상으로 보아 초기 발생 과정에서 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 또한 BMP5 및 BMP7과의 높은 유사성으로 인해 골 유도 활성을 가질 가능성이 제기되었습니다.
