Target Information
Neurogenin 1 (NeuroG1) is a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor involved in cell fate determination during development. It plays dual roles in cell-fate specification—promoting neurogenesis while inhibiting astrocyte differentiation. NeuroG1 functions as a transcriptional activator and regulates the CREB-binding protein transcription complex, thereby influencing neurogenesis and gliogenesis processes.
