Target Information
ROR2 (receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor 2) is a type I transmembrane protein belonging to the ROR subfamily of cell surface receptors. It is involved in early chondrocyte formation, cartilage development, and growth plate formation. ROR2 is highly expressed during early embryonic development, with expression decreasing significantly after day 16 and remaining low in adult tissues.
Defects in ROR2 are associated with:
- Brachydactyly type B1 (BDB1): Autosomal dominant skeletal disorder characterized by hypoplasia/aplasia of distal phalanges and nails, with shortened or absent terminal phalanges.
- Robinow syndrome (RRS): Autosomal recessive disorder characterized by skeletal dysplasia, limb bone shortening, spinal defects, brachydactyly, and facial dysmorphism.
The ROR2 protein contains:
- 1 frizzled (FZ) domain
- 1 immunoglobulin-like C2-type domain
- 1 kringle domain
