Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Secretory carrier membrane proteins (SCAMPs) are components of post-Golgi membranes involved in membrane trafficking.

  • In fibroblasts, SCAMPs localize to compartments associated with receptor recycling and endocytosis.
  • In neurons, they are found in synaptic vesicles, secretion granules, and transporter vesicles.
  • SCAMPs possess four transmembrane regions and a cytoplasmic tail.
  • SCAMPs 1–3 contain N-terminal NPF repeats interacting with EH domain proteins related to vesicle budding from the plasma membrane or Golgi complex.
  • SCAMPs 4 and 5 lack NPF repeats; SCAMPs 1–4 are ubiquitously expressed, while SCAMP5 is brain-specific and expressed late in development, correlating with mature synapse formation.
