Target Information
The inhibitor of DNA binding 2 (ID2) protein is essential for promoting the development of various cell types including natural killer cells, erythroid precursors, and CD8⁺/CD4⁺ T-cells. A deficiency of ID2 promotes B-cell development. ID2 associates with E proteins and other basic helix-loop-helix (HLH) family proteins, preventing them from binding DNA and activating transcription. Activation of ID2 is critical for natural killer cell lineage development.
