The MQ2-39C3 antibody reacts with human interleukin-6 (IL-6), a 21–28 kDa cytokine secreted by various cell types.
Applications Reported: MQ2-39C3 has been used for detection of human IL-6 by ELISA and immunoblotting (WB).
Applications Tested: This antibody is tested as a detection antibody in sandwich ELISA for human IL-6, with MQ2-13A5 (14-7069) as capture and recombinant human IL-6 (14-8069) as standard.
Recommended concentration for ELISA detection: 0.5–2 µg/mL.
A standard curve using recombinant IL-6 ranging from 1000 pg/mL to 8 pg/mL should be included.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B-cell maturation. It acts as an endogenous pyrogen and is secreted at sites of acute and chronic inflammation, inducing transcriptional inflammatory responses through IL-6 receptor alpha.
This gene is linked to various inflammation-associated diseases, including diabetes mellitus, systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Kaposi Sarcoma, and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Elevated IL-6 levels have been observed in viral infections, including COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2).
