- In direct ELISAs, less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human FGF-4, FGF-5, FGF-6, FGF-7, FGF-8, FGF-10, FGF-17, FGF-18, and FGF-19 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family, which has broad mitogenic and cell survival activities. FGF9 is involved in embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion. It acts as a growth-stimulating factor for glial cells and is mainly produced by neurons, playing an important role in glial cell development. Expression of the mouse homolog is dependent on Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling, and knockout mice show male-to-female sex reversal, indicating a role in testicular embryogenesis.
