Product Specific Information

The 1B1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD1d, a 48 kDa glycoprotein structurally homologous to MHC class I molecules. CD1d associates with beta2m and is functionally similar to MHC class II.
1B1 detects CD1d at varying levels on mouse leukocytes and beta2m-associated CD1d.

Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes at ≤0.125 µg/test.
A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Careful titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

CD1d is a heavy chain associated with Beta 2 microglobulin on cortical thymocytes. It can also be expressed independently on human intestinal epithelial cells.
CD1d belongs to the CD1 family of MHC-like glycoproteins and mediates presentation of lipid and glycolipid antigens to T cells.
The human genome contains five CD1 family genes on chromosome 1, differing in localization and lipid ligand specificity.
CD1d localizes to late endosomes and lysosomes via a tyrosine-based motif in its cytoplasmic tail.
Associated diseases include Mycobacterium Malmoense infection and autoimmune disease.
