PGP9.5 (Protein gene product 9.5, UCH-L1, PARK5)는 신경 특이적 단백질로, neuron specific enolase와 구조적·면역학적으로 구별됩니다. 분자량은 약 27 kDa이며, 유비퀴틴 카복실 말단 가수분해효소 패밀리 1(C12)에 속합니다.
이 단백질은 유비퀴틴 가수분해 및 리가아제 활성을 가지며, 신경세포 및 신경섬유, 신경내분비 세포, 신장 세뇨관 일부, 고환의 정조세포와 Leydig 세포, 난자 및 황체 세포 등에서 발현됩니다.
PGP9.5 과발현은 비소세포성 폐암과 연관되며, 발현 저하는 헌팅턴병 및 알츠하이머병과 관련이 있습니다. 또한 파킨슨병 등 신경퇴행성 질환 연구에서 신경세포 마커로 유용하게 사용됩니다.
