CHST14는 dermatan sulfate의 N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) 잔기의 4번 위치에 황산기를 전달하는 효소입니다. 이 효소는 dermatan sulfate의 4-O-sulfated IdoA 블록 형성에 중요한 역할을 하며, 부분적으로 탈황산된 dermatan sulfate에 높은 친화성을 보입니다. 또한, postnatal 뇌 발달 중 소뇌 신경 네트워크 형성에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
