Tested in Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32,000.
Target Information
Protein tyrosine phosphatase PTPN22 (PTP22, LYP, PEP, formerly PTPN8) is a genetic variant associated with autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis.
The minor allele of a missense SNP in PTPN22 encodes a hematopoietic-specific phosphatase known as Lyp.
This risk allele is found in ~17% of Caucasians and ~28% of those with rheumatoid arthritis.
It disrupts the P1 proline-rich motif critical for interaction with the SH3 domain of CSK, potentially altering normal negative regulation of T cell activation.
PTPN22 may act as an effector and/or regulator of CSK in T cells and other hematopoietic cells.
