Product Specific Information
- This antibody does not react with Rat.
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris Buffer with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Mucins are high molecular weight glycoproteins composed of approximately 80% carbohydrate and 20% protein core. Gastric mucin is normally found in the human gastrointestinal tract. During colonic carcinogenesis, re-expression of the peptide core of gastric (or fetal colonic) mucins leads to resurgence of gastric mucin reactivity.
