This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%) to prevent contamination.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information
Ago proteins are widely expressed in somatic cells and associate with miRNAs, playing key roles in RNA silencing pathways. Among them, Ago2 uniquely exhibits endonucleolytic “Slicer” activity, enabling miRNA-directed cleavage of target mRNA when base-pairing is perfect. In cases of partial complementarity, Ago2 represses translation rather than cleaving mRNA.
Ago2 is essential in gene silencing processes, including RNA interference, translation repression, and heterochromatin formation. As part of the RISC complex, AGO2 catalyzes degradation of target mRNAs guided by siRNAs or miRNAs. It also functions independently of Dicer as a regulator of miRNA maturation.
Overexpression of Ago2 is associated with cancer progression and poor survival outcomes. Mouse gene disruption studies confirm its essential role in embryonic development and regulation of B-lymphoid and erythroid cell differentiation.
