Acyl-CoA thioesterases (ACOTs)는 acyl-CoA를 가수분해하여 coenzyme A(CoA)와 자유 지방산을 형성하는 효소군입니다. 이러한 효소들은 세포 내 지방산과 acyl-CoA의 수준을 조절합니다.
ACOT9(acyl-CoA thioesterase 9)은 ACATE2, MT-ACT48(미토콘드리아 acyl-CoA thioesterase of 48 kDa), CGI-16으로도 알려져 있으며, 406개의 아미노산으로 구성된 acyl-CoA hydrolase 단백질 패밀리의 구성원입니다.
ACOT9은 마우스와 인간에서 보존된 C-말단 80 아미노산 도메인을 포함하며, 이는 촉매 활성을 담당할 가능성이 있습니다.
이 단백질은 X 염색체에 위치하며, 미토콘드리아에 국한되어 발현됩니다.
