Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with a cytoplasmic epitope of human and rodent STIM1, an 84 kDa essential and conserved regulator of store-operated Ca²⁺ channel function.
- Western Blot: Suitable under both reducing and non-reducing conditions
- Immunocytochemistry: Compatible with methanol-acetone fixation
Target Information
STIM1 (Stromal Interacting Molecule 1) acts as a calcium sensor within the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Upon calcium depletion, STIM1 oligomerizes and interacts with Orai1 at the plasma membrane to mediate calcium influx into the cytoplasm.
STIM1 is associated with microtubule growth ends and contributes to ER tubule extension.
Although its interaction mechanism with Orai1 is not fully elucidated, STIM1 is recognized as a key regulator of store-operated calcium entry (SOCE).
