Background
Envelope glycoprotein gp160은 단일 통과형 I형 막단백질로, 성숙한 Env 단백질은 비공유적으로 결합된 gp120–gp41 이합체의 삼량체 형태를 이룹니다. gp160은 절단되어 glycoprotein 120과 transmembrane protein gp41로 나뉘며, 이 복합체는 바이러스 표면에서 스파이크 형태로 돌출됩니다. 또한 약 17 아미노산 길이의 면역억제 영역이 존재하며, 이 보존된 서열에서 유래한 합성 펩타이드는 in vitro 및 in vivo에서 면역 기능을 억제하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
