Product Specific Information

Recombinant mouse monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These antibodies are generated by cloning specific genes that encode the desired antibody into an expression vector, followed by expression in vitro.
Advantages of recombinant antibodies include improved specificity and consistent performance across different production lots.
It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the intended assay.

Target Information

STAT1 (signal transducers and activators of transcription 1) is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. It can be activated by interferon-alpha, interferon-gamma, EGF, PDGF, and IL6. STAT1 regulates genes involved in cell growth, apoptosis, immune responses, and lipid metabolism, and plays a critical role in cell viability in response to various stimuli and pathogens.
The STAT1 gene is located on chromosome 2. Upon activation by JAK tyrosine kinases, STAT1 translocates to the nucleus to regulate transcription of multiple genes.
Among the seven STAT family members, STAT1, STAT3, STAT5a, and STAT5b show broad activation profiles. STAT1 is activated by multiple ligands, including IFN family (IFN-α, IFN-β, IFN-γ, IL-10), gp130 family (IL-6, IL-11, LIF, CNTF, G-CSF), and receptor tyrosine kinases (EGF, PDGF, CSF-1).
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms of STAT1 have been described.
