SCAMPs (Secretory Carrier Membrane Proteins)는 막 단백질로, 막 수송 과정에 관여합니다.
SCAMP1과 같은 대부분의 SCAMP 단백질은 N-말단의 NPF 반복 서열, 4개의 중심 막관통 영역, 짧은 C-말단 세포질 꼬리를 가지고 있습니다.
이 NPF 반복 서열은 엔도사이토시스에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
반면 SCAMP4는 NPF 반복 서열이 없어 엔도사이토시스 기능에는 관여하지 않는 것으로 추정됩니다.
SCAMP4는 신경발달장애, 성장부진, 안면기형 및 사시(Strabismus) 등과 관련된 질환과 연관되어 있습니다.
