This antibody detects endogenous levels of total OLFM4 protein.
Target Information
OLFM4 is a 510 amino acid extracellular matrix glycoprotein belonging to the olfactomedin-related protein family. It is selectively expressed in inflamed colonic epithelium and contains one signal peptide and six N-linked glycosylation motifs, forming disulfide-bonded multimers. OLFM4 may have a matrix-related function in differentiation and exhibits antiapoptotic activity by binding to GRIM-19, serving as a potential diagnostic marker for human cancers. It promotes proliferation of PANC-1 cells by favoring the transition from the S to G2/M phase and may mediate cell adhesion through interactions with cell surface lectins and cadherins.
