Rab 단백질은 Ras superfamily의 GTPase 중 가장 큰 그룹으로, 세포 내 소기관 및 소포의 세포질면에 존재하며, 막 융합 반응에 관여합니다.
Rab 단백질은 SNAP-25, synaptobrevin, syntaxin으로 구성된 막 융합 복합체 및 NSF, a-SNAP과 상호작용하여 소포 도킹 및 융합을 매개합니다.
Munc-18과 함께 작용하며, 포유류에서 40종 이상의 Rab 단백질이 보고되었습니다.
Rab 3D는 혀, 췌장, 간 등에서 부분적으로 발현되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
