Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Cytokeratin pan is a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by remarkable biochemical diversity. It is represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides, ranging in molecular weight between 40–68 kDa and isoelectric pH between 4.9–7.8.
Human cytokeratins are numbered 1 to 20, and their expression patterns vary by epithelial type, maturation degree, and differentiation state. These patterns are valuable in distinguishing epithelial malignancies.
Cytokeratin antibodies assist in tumor differential diagnosis using immunohistochemistry, and are useful in cytopathology and flow cytometry assays. Keratin composition differs with cell type, growth environment, and disease state.
Many studies confirm keratins’ utility as markers in cancer research and tumor diagnosis.
