Target Information
Serglycin is a hematopoietic cell granule proteoglycan. Proteoglycans stored in secretory granules of many hematopoietic cells contain a protease-resistant peptide core, important for neutralizing hydrolytic enzymes. The encoded protein associates with granzymes and perforin, potentially mediating granule-mediated apoptosis. Two transcript variants exist, only one protein-coding.
