Target Information
VGLL2는 초파리의 날개 발달에서 주요 조절자로 작용하며, 척추동물 TEF 단백질의 상동체인 scalloped와 복합체를 형성하여 기능합니다. 인간 성체 조직의 Northern 및 dot blot 분석에서 골격근에서 VGLL2 발현이 검출되었습니다. 생쥐 배아 발생 중에는 분화 중인 somite 및 branchial arch에서 VGLL2 발현이 관찰되었습니다. VGLL2의 클론인 VITO1은 scalloped interaction domain(SID)을 포함하며, 생쥐 C2C12 근육세포주에서 분화된 myotube에서 더 높은 수준으로 발현됩니다. 분화 과정에서 VGLL2 mRNA 수준이 증가하고 단백질은 세포질에서 핵으로 이동합니다. VITO1 발현을 siRNA로 억제하면 C2C12 근육세포의 분화가 저해됩니다. 따라서 VGLL2는 근육분화 프로그램의 중요한 구성 요소입니다.
