ITFG2는 KICSTOR complex의 구성 요소로서, TORC1 신호전달 경로의 아미노산 감지 분지에서 기능합니다. 아미노산 비의존적으로 GATOR1 complex를 리소좀 막으로 모집하여 GATOR2 및 RAG GTPases와 상호작용하도록 합니다. 이는 mTORC1 신호를 음성 조절하는 데 필요하며, KICSTOR complex가 없을 경우 mTORC1이 지속적으로 활성화됩니다. 또한 KICSTOR complex는 포도당에 의한 mTORC1 조절에도 관여할 가능성이 있습니다.
