LRP6는 Wnt/β-catenin 신호 경로에서 필수적인 역할을 하며, Frizzled와 함께 Wnt의 코리셉터로 작용합니다. DKK1 및 DKK2에 대한 특이적 고친화성 수용체이며, DKK1과의 상호작용은 Kremen 단백질 매개 내포작용을 통해 LRP6을 제거하여 Wnt/β-catenin 신호를 억제합니다.
