CD2AP는 actin 세포골격을 조절하는 scaffold 단백질을 암호화하며, filamentous actin 및 다양한 세포막 단백질과 직접 상호작용합니다. 이 단백질은 SH3 도메인과 proline-rich 영역을 통해 세포막 주름, lipid raft, 세포의 선단부에 위치합니다. 수용체 내재화 및 세포질 분열 중에 일어나는 actin 재구성과 막 수송 과정에 관여하며, 해당 유전자의 반수체 부족은 사구체 질환 감수성과 관련이 있습니다.
