Target Information
Cysteine protease ATG4B는 ATG4B 유전자에 의해 암호화된 효소로, 손상된 세포소기관과 단백질의 분해를 조절하는 자가포식(autophagy) 과정에서 중요한 역할을 합니다.
ATG4B는 ATG8 계열 단백질(MAP1LC3, GABARAPL1, GABARAPL2, GABARAP)의 C-말단 아미노산을 절단하여 글리신 잔기를 노출시킵니다. 이 글리신 노출은 ATG8 단백질이 인지질(PE)과 결합하여 막에 삽입되는 데 필수적입니다.
ATG4B는 주로 골격근, 뇌, 심장, 간 및 췌장에서 발현됩니다.
