Target Information

Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, it binds DNA to form the nucleosome structure. Histones play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication, and chromosomal stability. Post-translational modifications of histones, such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influence chromatin structure and gene expression. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 undergoes these modifications, affecting various cellular processes.
