Target Information
FGFR1 (also known as FLT2) belongs to the Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor family (FGFR1–4), which are membrane-spanning tyrosine kinases serving as high-affinity receptors for 17 fibroblast growth factors (FGF1–17).
These receptors are crucial in mesoderm induction, cell growth, migration, organ formation, and bone development.
FGFR1 undergoes alternative splicing, producing multiple variants expressed differently during embryonic and adult stages.
Mutations or aberrations in FGFR1 are linked to disorders such as Pfeiffer syndrome, idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, Kallmann syndrome type 2, osteoglophonic dysplasia, and other skeletal abnormalities.
Chromosomal rearrangements involving FGFR1 are associated with stem cell myeloproliferative disorders and leukemia/lymphoma syndromes.
