Target Information
This gene encodes the transcriptionally active subunit of the SIII (elongin) transcription elongation factor complex, which includes regulatory subunits elongins B and C. The complex enhances RNA polymerase II elongation by reducing pausing during transcription. Unlike elongin A, which is ubiquitously expressed, ELOA2 is specifically expressed in testis, suggesting a potential role in spermatogenesis.
