Target Information

Uteroglobin (SCGB1A1) is a multifunctional protein belonging to the Secretoglobin superfamily, also known as Clara cell phospholipid-binding protein. It binds small hydrophobic molecules such as phospholipids and prostaglandins, exerting anti-inflammatory and anti-tumorigenic effects.

Produced and secreted by non-ciliated Clara cells in the pulmonary airways, Uteroglobin demonstrates:

• Growth stimulatory effects in pre-implantation embryos
• High structural conservation within the Secretoglobin family
• Functions as a small, secretory homo- or heterodimer

It plays roles in:

• Inhibiting cell migration and invasion
• Preventing platelet aggregation
• Modulating T cell differentiation
