Target Information
This gene encodes an RNA-binding protein that belongs to the c-myc gene single-strand binding protein family. These proteins contain two ribonucleoprotein consensus sequence motifs (RNP1 and RNP2) involved in DNA and RNA binding. RBMS3 is implicated in DNA replication, gene transcription, cell cycle progression, and apoptosis. It primarily localizes in the cytoplasm, suggesting a role in RNA metabolism regulation rather than transcription. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
