Target Information
Mucin 13 (MUC13) is an epithelial transmembrane mucin containing SEA domains associated with O-glycosylation. SEA-modules are found in various extracellular proteins such as agrin, enterokinase, perlecan, and mucin 1. These proteins are typically present in heavily glycosylated environments. The SEA domain may assist in binding to neighboring carbohydrate moieties. Enterokinase, for example, is a mosaic protease with multiple domains involved in intestinal digestion.
