Target Information
Estrogen Receptor beta (ERβ, NR3A2) 단백질은 약 55 kDa이며, 36–59 kDa 범위의 여러 isoform이 보고되어 있습니다. Human ERβ는 처음에 고환에서 클로닝 및 특성화되었습니다.
Estrogen Receptors (ER)는 스테로이드/갑상선 호르몬 수용체 초가족에 속하는 핵 수용체로, 에스트로겐 결합 시 전사 인자로 작용합니다. 에스트로겐 결합 후 ER은 ERE (Estrogen Response Element)에 결합하여 전사 활성 또는 억제를 조절합니다.
ER에는 alpha(ESR1)와 beta(ESR2) 두 가지 형태가 있으며, ERβ는 ERα와 유사한 친화도로 에스트로겐에 결합합니다. 일부 ERβ isoform은 ERα의 활성을 억제하며, 다양한 조직에서 발현되어 종양 억제 인자로 작용합니다.
ERβ는 전립선암, 자폐 스펙트럼 장애, 갑상선 수질암, 드퀘르벵병, 심혈관 질환 위험 등 다양한 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
