Target Information
BCL-2는 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 조절하는 핵심 단백질로, 세포 사멸을 억제하거나 촉진하는 기능을 합니다.
BCL-2 패밀리 단백질들은 서로 이합체를 형성하여 세포사멸을 조절하며, 예를 들어 Bag1은 BCL-2와 이합체를 형성하여 항세포사멸 효과를 강화합니다.
Bax와 Bak은 미토콘드리아에서 cytochrome c 방출을 유도하여 세포사멸을 개시하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다.
Bax는 항세포사멸보다는 친세포사멸 효과를 나타냅니다.
BCL-2의 지속적 발현은 BCL2 유전자가 Ig heavy chain locus로 전위되는 경우와 같이 여포성 림프종의 원인으로 알려져 있습니다.
대부분의 여포성 림프종에서 비정상적인 생식 중심은 높은 수준의 BCL-2 알파 단백질을 발현하지만, 정상 또는 과형성 생식 중심은 음성입니다.
BCL-2는 대체 스플라이싱으로 생성된 두 가지 전사 변이체를 가지며, C-말단이 다릅니다.
BCL-2의 과발현은 B세포 림프종 및 전립선암 등 다양한 인간 암과 관련이 있습니다.
