Left-right determination factor 1 and 2 (Lefty1/2)는 TGF-beta 단백질 초가족에 속하며, 배아 발생 중 내장 기관의 좌우 위치 결정을 담당합니다. Lefty1은 Lefty2 및 NODAL의 조절자로 작용하며, Lefty1 결핍 시 nodal, lefty2 및 Pitx2의 양측 발현이 유도됩니다. Lefty2는 자궁내막 출혈 조절에도 관여할 수 있습니다.
