By Western blot, this antibody detects an approximately 48 kDa protein representing cytohesin-1.
The immunogen used is purified, His-tagged cytohesin-1.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family.
PTPs are signaling molecules that regulate various cellular processes, including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation.
This PTP possesses an extracellular region, a single transmembrane region, and a single intracellular catalytic domain, representing a receptor-type PTP.
The similar gene expressed in mouse brain associates with MAP kinases, regulating their activity and localization.
The rat counterpart is regulated by nerve growth factor, suggesting a role in neuronal growth and differentiation.
