For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, an additional desalting step is recommended (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The mediator complex is a multi-protein transcriptional co-activator essential for RNA polymerase II transcription.
MED28 (also known as Magicin) is a component of this complex, expressed in various cell lines and tissues.
Down-regulation of MED28 in NIH3T3 cells induces genes associated with smooth muscle differentiation, while overexpression represses SMC gene expression.
MED28 can form a ternary complex with Grb2 and Merlin (neurofibromatosis 2 tumor suppressor protein), suggesting a role in tumor suppression.
Additionally, MED28 has been identified as an HIV dependency factor (HDF), indicating potential as a drug target in HIV research.
At least two isoforms of MED28 are known.
