Target Information
BRCA1 (breast and ovarian cancer susceptibility protein 1)는 핵 인산화 단백질로서 유전체 안정성을 유지하는 역할을 하며, 다른 종양 억제 인자, DNA 손상 감지 센서, 신호 전달 인자들과 함께 BASC(BRCA1 associated genome surveillance complex)를 형성합니다.
BRCA1은 RNA polymerase II 및 histone deacetylase complex와 상호작용하여 전사, 이중 가닥 DNA 손상 복구 및 재조합 과정에 관여합니다.
BRCA1 유전자 변이는 유전성 유방암의 약 40%, 유전성 유방 및 난소암의 80% 이상을 유발합니다.
대체 스플라이싱은 BRCA1의 세포 내 위치 및 생리적 기능을 조절하며, 여러 변이형이 보고되었습니다. 일부는 질병 관련 돌연변이로 알려져 있습니다.
