Target Information
CBX8 is a component of a Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1-like complex, which maintains transcriptional repression of genes such as Hox during development.
The PRC1 complex acts through chromatin remodeling and histone modification, mediating monoubiquitination of histone H2A (Lys-119), resulting in heritable changes in chromatin expressibility.
