MA1-43011 detects Factor VII in human samples.
It has been successfully used in radioimmunoassays, western blot, and ELISA applications.
This antibody was derived from human factor VII, factor VIIa, and BFPRck factor VIIa.
Target Information
Coagulation factor VII is a vitamin K-dependent protein essential for hemostasis.
It circulates in the blood in a zymogen form and is activated by factor IXa, Xa, XIIa, or thrombin through proteolysis.
Upon activation, it forms a heavy chain (catalytic domain) and a light chain (EGF-like domains) linked by a disulfide bond.
In the presence of factor III and calcium ions, activated factor VII initiates the coagulation cascade by converting factor IX to IXa and/or factor X to Xa.
Defects in F7 production can lead to coagulopathy.
