Target Information

EEF2K (Eukaryotic Elongation Factor 2 Kinase) is a highly conserved serine/threonine kinase involved in the calmodulin signaling pathway. Its activity is increased in several cancers, including breast cancer. EEF2K regulates protein synthesis by phosphorylating elongation factor EEF2, preventing it from binding ribosomes and thereby reducing translation elongation rates. Activation occurs via upstream kinases such as AMPK or TRPM7.
