ADAM9은 ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) 계열의 단백질로, 세포 간 및 세포-기질 상호작용과 관련된 다양한 생물학적 과정(수정, 근육 발달, 신경 발생 등)에 관여합니다.
이 단백질은 SH3 도메인-함유 단백질과 상호작용하며, mitotic arrest deficient 2 beta 단백질과 결합하고, TPA 유도에 의한 막 결합형 heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor의 ectodomain shedding에도 관여합니다.
