Description:
The BC96 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD25, the 55 kDa interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain (IL-2Rα). CD25 is expressed by early progenitors of T and B lineage as well as activated mature T and B lymphocytes. CD25 binds IL-2 with low affinity alone but forms a high-affinity receptor complex with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (common γ chain). CD25 plays a role in lymphocyte differentiation, activation, and proliferation.
Applications Reported:
This BC96 antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage is 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (in 100 µL final volume). Optimal cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

CD25 (IL2 receptor alpha chain / IL2RA) is a cytokine receptor involved in T and B lymphocyte proliferation. The receptor complex includes IL2RA, IL2RB, and IL2RG, forming a high-affinity IL-2 receptor. Homodimeric IL2RA forms a low-affinity receptor, while homodimeric IL2RB forms a medium-affinity receptor. IL2 is primarily produced by mature T cells and functions as a growth, differentiation, and apoptosis-regulating factor. Mutations in IL2RA are associated with interleukin-2 receptor alpha deficiency and immune dysregulation.
