Antibody detects endogenous levels of total MAP3K8/COT.

Target Information

MAP3K8 (COT) is a serine/threonine kinase that activates both MAP and JNK kinase pathways and plays a role in the cell cycle.
Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling cascades include MAPK or ERK, MAPK kinase (MKK or MEK), and MAPK kinase kinase (MAPKKK or MEKK). MAPKKK/MEKK phosphorylates and activates MAPK kinase/MEK, which in turn activates MAPK.
These kinases are highly conserved among species such as yeast, Drosophila, and mammals. MEKK8 activates NF-kappa-B1 by stimulating proteasome-mediated proteolysis of NF-kappa-B1/p105.
This cytoplasmic protein is expressed in several normal tissues and tumor-derived cell lines. The 58 kDa form is activated during S and G2/M phases of the cell cycle. The longer form undergoes phosphorylation mainly on Ser residues, while the shorter form on both Ser and Thr residues.
