Product Specific Information
- PA1-601 detects recombinant human and mouse endostatin.
- Suitable for Western blot, IF/ICC, and IHC (P) applications.
- Detects a 20 kDa protein representing recombinant human endostatin in Western blot.
- Immunizing peptides derived from amino acid residues 129–142 of endostatin.
- Can be used with blocking peptide PEP-112.
Target Information
Endostatin induces non-uniform responses in endothelial cell proliferation, adhesion, and migration. It inhibits angiogenesis and tumor growth in vivo by inducing apoptosis in endothelial cells. Local delivery of endostatin specifically affects tumor-associated microvessels by reducing vessel density, diameter, and functionality.
Endostatin is non-toxic, does not induce drug resistance, and is considered a potential therapeutic strategy for solid tumors, including gliomas.
Its anti-angiogenic effect is partly mediated by Zn²⁺ binding and elastase processing. Endostatin is also found in elastic fibers of vessel walls and basement membranes and accumulates in amyloid plaques in Alzheimer’s disease.
