Reconstitution: Add 50 µL or 0.2 mL double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C, protected from light, for up to 1 week.
For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Centrifuge antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

Voltage-dependent anion channel (VDAC) proteins are abundant, pore-forming proteins located in the mitochondrial outer membrane and also expressed in the plasma membrane.
At least three different VDAC genes have been identified in vertebrates.
VDAC proteins play essential roles in cellular metabolism and apoptosis.
They form major pathways for metabolite exchange (e.g., ADP/ATP, succinate, citrate) between cytosol and mitochondria.
VDAC1 in the plasma membrane may regulate apoptosis via redox activity.
