Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins with high biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They range in molecular weight from approximately 40 kDa to 68 kDa and isoelectric pH between 4.9–7.8. Cytokeratin subtype expression patterns are characteristic of epithelial type and differentiation stage, aiding in the distinction of epithelial malignancies. Cytokeratin antibodies are valuable tools for tumor differential diagnosis, cytopathology, and flow cytometry.
