Product Specific Information

The TM-b1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD122, the 90–110 kDa interleukin-2 receptor beta chain (IL-2Rβ). CD122 is expressed by NK cells and some T cells in the periphery and is upregulated upon activation. It associates with CD25 and CD132 (common gamma chain) to form the high-affinity IL-2 receptor. TM-b1 inhibits high-affinity IL-2 binding.

Target Information

CD122 (Interleukin 2 receptor) is involved in T cell-mediated immune responses and is primarily expressed in the hematopoietic system. It exists in three forms:

  1. Low-affinity monomer (alpha subunit)
  2. Intermediate-affinity heterodimer (alpha/beta)
  3. High-affinity heterotrimer (alpha/beta/gamma)

Both intermediate and high-affinity forms mediate endocytosis and mitogenic signal transduction. CD122 encodes the beta subunit, a type I membrane protein. Dysfunction is associated with oligoarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis and rheumatoid factor-negative juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
