Product Specific Information

The eBioHMb1-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat CD29 (integrin beta 1), a 110–120 kDa member of the beta integrin family expressed by leukocytes, endothelial, smooth muscle, and epithelial cells.
CD29 forms heterodimers with alpha integrins (CD49a–f, CD51), mediating adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation. It binds extracellular matrix proteins such as collagen, laminin, fibronectin, and vitronectin, and interacts with receptors like VCAM-1 and MadCAM-1.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse bone marrow cells at ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimize titration for best performance.

Fluorophore Information:
Super Bright 600 is a tandem dye excited at 405 nm and emits at 600 nm. Recommended filter: 610/20 bandpass. Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to reduce non-specific polymer interactions.

Handling Notes:

  • Light sensitive: protect from light.
  • Fixation: samples can be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-57) with minimal brightness loss.
  • Laser: Violet (405 nm).

Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29)
A 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed by various cell types including all leukocytes. Forms heterodimers with multiple alpha chains (α1–α6), contributing to VLA integrins. Functions in cell adhesion and extracellular matrix binding.
Decreased ITGB1 expression is linked to multidrug resistance in tumor cells. Up-regulated during leukocyte migration and plays roles in inflammatory bowel disease and cytokine regulation in airway smooth muscle.
Two major isoforms exist: beta1A (ubiquitous) and beta1D (cardiac/skeletal muscle-specific).
